Lori Michele “Possum” Butler

2677199Lori Michele “Possum” Butler, 41, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Lori was born in Ennis, Texas on June 15, 1973 to Tony Max and Nancy Louise (Burgess) Butler. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1991. She went on to attend Navarro College majoring in Child Development. She is a lifetime resident of Ennis, Texas. She worked for Texas Neighborhood Services in Corsicana and had previously worked for Cedar Ridge Child Development of Ennis. She was a member of the New Beginnings Bible Church. She enjoyed singing, hunting fishing and all outdoor activities. Lori’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved them all to pieces. She also enjoyed being with her family that she loved so much. She is survived by sons: Dylan Ware and David “Trey” Lewis Smiley III; daughters: Kali Krueger and husband Brad and Janie ”Kenzie” Smiley; father, Tony Butler: mother, Nancy Trice and husband, Terry; three grandchildren: Abby, Zoe and Hunter; brother, Rod Butler; sisters: Tracy Goodwin and Melanie Smart and Lori’s boyfriend, Desi Filep. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Pallbearers will be Blake Butler, Derek Doyle, Clay Curry, Zanic Butler, Rustin Burgess and Brian Butler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua Doyle and Aaron Goodwin. Interment will follow in the Bristol Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. www.jekeevermortuary.com
