James Erik Pryor, age 19, of Ennis, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Erik was born on March 28, 1995 in Ennis, Texas to James Robert Pryor and Kelly Johnston Pryor. He enjoyed spending his time playing the guitar, skateboarding, and playing basketball with his favorite cousin, Nik. Erik touched so many lives in his short time here and was loved by everyone who knew him. He could walk into a room and make everyone smile. If you were sad around Erik, it didn’t last long-he would have you laughing in a heartbeat. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
Erik is survived by his mother and father, Kelly and Bobby Pryor, of Ennis; great-aunt and great-uncle, Vickie and Michael Ford, of Ennis; brother, Adam Pryor and Bridget, of Ennis; maternal grandfather, ‘Papa’ Jack Johnston, of Ennis; paternal grandparents, Clifford and Robbie Pryor, of Kerens; maternal great-grandmother, Rita Johnston, of Corsicana; aunts, Tammie Johnston and Barney, of Ennis, and Terry Raney of Kemp; cousins, Hailey Moore and Nikilus Costlow, both of Ennis; his beloved pal, Ollie; and numerous friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his ‘Nanny’, Sandra Johnston, in 2011; and his great-grandmother and great-grandfather, Slim and Mildred Dorton.
Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, June 20, 2014, at Corley Funeral Home. A celebration of life service was held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Corley Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Michael Howard officiating. Interment followed the service in New Chatfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Adam Pryor, Daniel Arteaga, Ed Hernandez, Jake Hernandez, Matt Martinez, and Dodz Hinojosa.
