Leticia was born in Coahuila, Mexico on December 11, 1935 to Benjamin and Virginia (Hernandez) Garza. She grew up in Palau, Coahuila, Mexico and attended Palau Schools. On September 20, 1952 she married Esteban Cazares and they made their home in Palau before moving to Kaufman in 1962, and then to Ennis in 1975.
She worked for Story Manufacturing for many years as a seamstress. She attended the Refiner’s Fire Ministries International. She enjoyed sewing for her family and loved being with her family.
She is survived by two sons: Esteban Cazares, Jr. and Joe Cazares; five daughters: Irma Soto, Yolanda Mozqueda, Maricela Zambrano, Virginia Cowan and Chelsea Cleaver; twenty-four grandchildren: seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Maria Luisa Gauna.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Esteban Cazares, Sr. and son, Jose De Jesus Cazares.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J. E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery of Ennis under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
