Jewel E. Light Jewel E. Light, 96, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Jewel was born in Montrose, CO on September 2, 1917 to Joseph Austin and Marietta (Dye) Woods. She grew up in Montrose and attended school in Montrose and Saint Louis, MO. On May 29, 1936 she married James Light and they lived in Saint Louis, before she moving to Ennis in 2007. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed soap operas that she called “her stories”. Above all she loved her family and spending time with them. She also spent many an hour with her pet Petie a Quaker parrot teaching her to talk. She is survived by one son, Gary L. Light of Fenton, MO; one daughter, Joetta Roth of Ennis; twelve grandchildren: twenty-two great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Light on February 10, 1973, three sisters and one great-granddaughter.
