Michael Anthony Dlabaj, 56, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Michael was born in Ennis, Texas on December 31, 1957 to Albin Anton and Mildred Dolores (Holy) Dlabaj. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1976. In September of 2004 he married Mary Jane Martinez and they made their home in Bardwell and then to Garrett. He served his country proudly in the United States Marines from 1977 until 1980 serving in Guam. He worked for Advanced Plumbing for several years as a plumber, for Elk Corporation and James Hardie Construction in maintenance. He was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJT and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Dlabaj of Ennis; daughter, Shari Childress of Ennis; son-in-law, Randy Childress of Ennis; granddaughter, Alisha Cole Childress; son Nathan Dlabaj of Chattanooga, TN; daughter-in-law, Janay Dlabaj of Chattanooga, TN; granddaughter, Jessie Jane Dlabaj of Chattanooga, TN; step-son, Alex Rendon of Ennis; step-daughter-in-law, Dena Rendon of Ennis; step-grandchildren; Alexie Rendon, Logan Rendon and Reece Rendon of Ennis; step-son, Allen Rendon of Italy; step daughter-in-law, Jennifer Rendon; step-granddaughter, Ryanne Rendon of Italy; mother, Mildred Dlabaj of Ennis; father, Albin Dlabaj of Ennis; sister, Susan Wunderlich of Dallas and companion Phillip Campbell of Dallas; nephew, Michael Clayton Wunderlich of Huntsville; great-nephew, Jackson Albin Wunderlich of Huntsville; sister, Peggy Spurgeon of Ennis, brother-in-law, Larry Spurgeon of Ennis; nephews, Nicholas Spurgeon of Mississippi and Tyler Spurgeon of Fort Worth; brother, Gulash Dlabaj of Sommerville; sister-in-law, Connie Dlabaj of Sommerville; niece, Mollie Dlabaj of Ennis; great-niece, Laynie Dlabaj of Ennis; brother, Timothy Dlabaj of Memphis; sister-in-law, Michelle Dlabaj of Memphis; niece, Malerie Young of Memphis; nephew-in-law, Dwayne Young of Memphis; niece, Kennedy Dlabaj of Memphis and nephews: Parker Dlabaj and Braden Dlabaj of Memphis. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick as celebrant.
