Alma M. Diaz, 70, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Friday, January 17, 2014. Alma was born in Laredo, Texas on August 9, 1943 to Amando and Manuela (Villarreal) Martinez. She grew up in Laredo and attended school in Laredo. On February 27, 1971 she married Rafael Diaz and they made their home in Laredo from 1971-1976, Madisonville from 1976 to 1988 and in Ennis since 1988. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Rafael Diaz; daughter, San Juanita Diaz; four grandchildren: Lizette Nicole Santos, Ivan Santos, LeAnn M. Arriaga and Allysa M. Santos; one brother, Alonzo Martinez and three sisters: Angelina Hernandez, Adela Sanchez and Alejanda Sanchez. She is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Azenette Santos. Rosary will be on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Mass of the Christian burial will be on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Rev. John Dick as celebrant.
