Bill C. Huffstetler, 97, went on to his Heavenly Home in Ennis, Texas on Monday, January 13, 2014. Bill was born in Boyce, Texas on March 2, 1916 to James Harvey and Elva Lee (Harris) Huffstetler. He grew up in Boyce and attended Boyce Schools. On November 4, 1939 he married Louise Green and they became lifetime residents of Ennis. He served his country proudly in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII. He was the manager of Cameron Lumber Yard and of the S. P. Bush Lumber Yard and later he owned the Frame Shop. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis where he served as a Deacon, Trustee and active member of the Choir. Bill loved his church and loved the people there. He served as Past President of the Lions Club, was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and was a board member for the Ennis Municipal Hospital. He enjoyed sports and played baseball and basketball for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of over seventy-four years, Louise Huffstetler and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Susie Tiner and Pauline Odom, brothers, James H. Huffstetler, Darwin Huffstetler and R. C. Huffstetler. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis with Rev. Richard Moody officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Harrison, Dave Stewart, Dave Carter, Robert Stockton, Dr. Bill Lee and Steve Huff. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
