Stanley “Stan” Brown, 77, passed away in Ennis on Aug. 21, 2013. He was born on Feb. 2, 1936 in Dallas, Texs to Homer Walter and Mollie (Horn) Brown. Throughout his life he held residence in Dallas, Tyler and Ennis. He was owner of East Texas Forklift Service in Tyler, Texas for many years before moving to Ennis, where he then began work as an aircraft mechanic and held federal aviation inspector licensure. Stan held a lifelong passion for flying, and obtained both private and instructor licenses. He served as a Chief Warrant Officer in the Civil Air Patrol-Auxiliary United States Air Force, where he received The Bronze Metal of Valor, in 1972, for heroic action. Stan was a beloved Father, and Grandfather and a cherished friend. He will be deeply missed by all of those who were touched by him. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Billie Brown-O’Neal. He is survived by two daughters, Glenda Hickman and husband Bobby and Cynthia Collins of Houston; seven grandchildren, Sonja Wedgeworth-Primes, Joshua Wedgeworth, Callie Hickman, Troy Hickman, Tara Hughes, Zachary Hughes, and Amber Hughes, and five great-grandchildren.
