Bobby S. Tumlinson, age 73, passed away on Saturday morning, April 6th, 2013, at the Ennis Care Center. Bobby was born August 2, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas. He grew up there and at Sunrise Beach, Texas. After coming of age, he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country for his term. After the Navy, Bobby tried several different jobs, including peace officer, before settling on truck driving as his career. His love of travel and meeting new people kept him busy until 1995, when he retired and settled in Salem, Missouri with his wife Gracie Wethy, who preceded him to God’s Kingdom in 2007. While there he served as a Pastor for the Bible-Way Association. After his wife’s passing, he moved to Ennis to be in the care of his son, Dwayne Tumlinson and his wife Jennifer. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents Neely and Helen Tumlinson; his wife Gracie Wethy; his brother John Wayne Baze and his son Teddy Tumlinson. He is survived by his brothers; Joe Tumlinson and his wife Eddie Ruth, Steve Baze and his wife Lou, and his sisters; Patricia, Diane, and Donna Baze and their husbands: Sons; Dwayne Tumlinson and his wife Jennifer, and Shane Tumlinson and his wife Michelle, and the daughter of his heart, Glenda Miller and her husband Gary Miller: Grandchildren; Nicole Ruiz, Patrick Tumlinson, Bethany Williams, Melissa Mcnally, Brandi Dees, Michael Dees, Emily Tumlinson, and Michael Miller: and numerous neices, nephews, and great-grandchildren, as well as friends all across the country. Bobby donated his body to Southwest Medical University to further serve his fellow man and the family requests that in lieu of flowers, anyone who wants should make a donation, in his name, to the American Heart Association and/or to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation to help find a cure for the conditions that caused his passing. The family would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Ennis Care Center for their love and care of Bobby and to First Family Hospice for their excellent service and compassion in his final days.
