Leslie “Les” Grayson

Leslie J. “Les” Grayson, 72, entered into eternal life on October 21, 2017. Les was born on December 24, 1944 in Galveston, Texas, to his parents Leslie G. Grayson and Opal D. “Boadie” Grayson. He was a longtime member of the Northside Baptist Church in Corsicana, Texas. He rededicated his life to his Christian faith and was baptized on February 10, 2013. He received his Music Education degree from
North Texas State University in 1974. He also attended Navarro College and was the drum major of the “El Conquistador” band during the 1965 season. His love for music and community was evident throughout many years of his participation in the local community theater, church orchestras and performing for civic events. He is survived by his wife Becky Grayson of Corsicana, brother Bobby H. Grayson of New York. His children Lane Grayson and wife Brooke of Ennis, Rusty Grayson and wife Julie of Ennis, John Bland of Rice, Bryan Bland of Rice, Susie and Dell Perkins of Mildred. He leaves behind seventeen grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his father Leslie G. Grayson in 2006 and his mother Opal D. Grayson in 1994. Visitation was held at Corley’s funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2017. A celebration of his life was held in the main sanctuary of Northside Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Northside Baptist church music ministry.
